Saint Panteleimon Prayer Card – Patron for Physical Healing, Cancer Prayer & Medical Emergencies

$3.00

Saint Panteleimon is one of the most beloved healing saints in all of Christianity, venerated deeply in the Eastern Orthodox Church, honored in Eastern Catholic traditions, and revered in Roman Catholic devotion as a wonderworking physician who healed freely in Christ’s name. His feast day is celebrated on July 27 in the Eastern calendar and also observed in Western tradition.

Panteleimon did not become holy inside quiet chapels.

He became holy beside sickbeds.

He became holy while washing wounds, comforting the dying, and standing with families when medicine reached its limits.

Born in Nicomedia in the late third century, Panteleimon was trained as a physician from a young age and quickly rose in reputation for his intelligence and skill. He could have lived comfortably within the imperial system. His career was secure. His future was bright.

But everything changed when he encountered Christ through the hidden priest Hermolaus.

Panteleimon learned that healing was not only clinical.

It was sacred.

From that moment forward, he refused payment for treatment. He prayed before touching patients. He invoked Christ before every procedure. He treated slaves and nobles alike, believing every body carried divine dignity. His practice became a sanctuary, where suffering met mercy and fear met prayer.

Today, Saint Panteleimon is prayed to by people facing cancer, chronic illness, surgery, frightening diagnoses, and overwhelming medical decisions. He is especially sought by families waiting for test results, by patients walking through long treatment journeys, and by anyone standing beside a hospital bed whispering desperate prayers.

This prayer card honors his lifelong devotion to healing bodies and restoring hope.

Each card is handmade in Austin and created to order. We do not keep stock, because every prayer card is treated as a unique devotional offering. • Saint Panteleimon was born around the year 275 in Nicomedia. His father was a pagan official, while his mother secretly raised him in the Christian faith. After her early death, Panteleimon pursued formal medical training and became a physician attached to the imperial court.

    Outwardly, his life appeared settled.

    Inwardly, God was drawing him.

He met the elderly priest Hermolaus, who quietly taught him about Christ. Panteleimon listened with curiosity at first, then with conviction. His conversion deepened dramatically when he witnessed a child who had died from a snakebite restored to life through prayer in Jesus’ name.

    That moment reshaped everything.

Panteleimon devoted himself fully to Christ while continuing his medical practice. But now he healed differently. He treated the poor freely. He prayed over wounds. He fasted regularly. He spoke gently to frightened patients. Many experienced miraculous recoveries, and his reputation spread rapidly throughout the region.

    Compassion drew crowds.

    It also drew enemies.

Other physicians, jealous of his growing influence, reported him to Roman authorities during the persecutions under Emperor Maximian. He was arrested and ordered to sacrifice to pagan gods.

    He refused.

Panteleimon endured prolonged torture, including burning, attempted drowning, and severe beatings. According to tradition, execution attempts repeatedly failed until he finally surrendered his life willingly to Christ.

    He died young.

But his ministry did not end.

  • Saint Panteleimon is remembered as one of the Church’s greatest unmercenary healers.

He is especially beloved by those facing serious illness and medical fear.
