Saint Panteleimon Prayer Card – Patron for Physical Healing, Cancer Prayer & Medical Emergencies

$3.00

Saint Panteleimon is one of the most beloved healing saints in all of Christianity, venerated deeply in the Eastern Orthodox Church, honored in Eastern Catholic traditions, and revered in Roman Catholic devotion as a wonderworking physician who asked nothing in return. His feast day is celebrated on July 27 in the Eastern calendar and also observed in Western tradition.

Panteleimon did not become a saint inside a monastery.

He became a saint inside hospital rooms, sickbeds, and moments of terror when bodies failed and families prayed through tears.

Born in Nicomedia in the late third century, he was trained as a physician from a young age and quickly gained recognition for his intelligence and medical skill. But everything changed when he encountered Christ through the hidden priest Saint Hermolaus. Panteleimon learned that medicine alone was not enough.

Healing required prayer.

From that moment forward, he treated every patient in the name of Christ. He refused payment. He prayed before procedures. He laid hands on the dying. He spoke gently to the afraid. His reputation spread rapidly, not only because people recovered, but because they felt seen, carried, and spiritually strengthened.

Eventually, jealousy drew the attention of Roman authorities.

Panteleimon was ordered to renounce Christ.

He refused.

He endured torture with astonishing calm and was finally executed for his faith.

Today, Saint Panteleimon is prayed to by people facing cancer, chronic illness, surgery, frightening diagnoses, and overwhelming medical decisions. He is especially sought by families waiting for test results, by patients struggling through treatment, and by anyone standing in fear beside a hospital bed.

This prayer card honors his lifelong devotion to healing bodies and restoring hope.

Each card is handmade in Austin and created to order. We do not keep stock, because every prayer card is treated as a unique devotional offering. • Saint Panteleimon was born around the year 275 in Nicomedia, in present-day Turkey. His father was a pagan official, while his mother secretly raised him in the Christian faith. After her death, Panteleimon pursued medical studies and became a promising young physician serving at the imperial court.

    Outwardly, his life was secure.

    Inwardly, God was drawing him.

He encountered the elderly priest Hermolaus, who quietly taught him about Christ. Panteleimon listened, wrestled, and slowly began to believe. His conversion deepened when he witnessed a child who had died from a snakebite restored to life through prayer in Christ’s name.

From that moment on, Panteleimon devoted himself fully to God.

He continued practicing medicine, but no longer charged patients. He treated slaves, beggars, widows, and the forgotten. He prayed over wounds. He invoked Christ before administering care. Many experienced miraculous recoveries, and his name became known throughout the region.

    But compassion attracts enemies.

Other physicians reported him to authorities out of envy. He was arrested during the persecutions under Emperor Maximian and commanded to sacrifice to pagan gods.

    He refused.

Panteleimon endured prolonged torture, including burning, drowning attempts, and beatings. According to tradition, every execution attempt failed until he finally surrendered his life willingly to Christ.

    He died young.

    But his ministry never ended.
