Saint Josaphat Kuntsevych Prayer Card – Patron for Church Unity, Courage Under Religious Hatred & Perseverance When Faith Divides Families

$3.00

Saint Josaphat Kuntsevych is one of the most courageous witnesses to Christian unity in history, venerated in the Eastern Catholic Churches and honored in the Roman Catholic tradition as a bishop who gave his life rather than abandon communion with Christ’s Church. His feast day is commemorated on November 12 in the Eastern calendar and November 12 in the Western calendar as well.

People come to Saint Josaphat when faith becomes dangerous.
When family members turn against each other over religion.
When Church division feels overwhelming.
When standing for truth brings hostility instead of peace.
When they need courage to remain faithful while surrounded by opposition.

Josaphat understands this cost.

He lived during a time when Eastern Christianity was fractured by political pressure and religious violence. Communities were torn apart. Neighbors became enemies. Priests were threatened. Bishops were hunted.

Josaphat did not seek conflict.

He sought unity.

Born in 1580 in what is now Ukraine, he entered monastic life young, drawn to prayer, fasting, and reconciliation. As a Basilian monk and later Archbishop of Polotsk, he devoted himself to healing the wounds between Eastern Christians and restoring communion with Rome through pastoral care, patient teaching, and personal holiness.

He paid for that devotion with his life.

Today, Saint Josaphat is prayed to by those caught in religious conflict, families divided by faith, clergy facing hostility, and anyone struggling to remain gentle while defending truth. He is especially sought by people praying for Church unity, courage under persecution, and strength to follow Christ when obedience invites suffering.

This prayer card honors the bishop who teaches that unity is not negotiated through comfort.

It is purchased through love.

Each card is handmade in Austin and created to order. We do not keep stock, because every prayer card is treated as a unique devotional offering. They are printed on museum-quality photo paper, not cardstock, and each one is made during prayer. The saints are venerated throughout the entire process, and prayers are intentionally offered for the person who will receive the card. These are not mass-produced items. They are created slowly, reverently, and with spiritual intention, because every soul and every prayer matters.
