Pregnancy and Motherhood Saints Prayer Card Bundle: 12 Handmade Cards
Expectant mothers, new parents and families hoping for children have long turned to the saints. This bundle brings together patrons of childbirth and unborn children, holy mothers, and parents who raised saints.
These saints are traditionally sought by expectant mothers and families, or were themselves holy parents.
This bundle includes 12 different handmade prayer cards, one of each saint listed below.
The 12 cards in this bundle
- Saint Raymond Nonnatus: A thirteenth century Mercedarian friar of Spain, born by cesarean after his mother died in labor, who risked his life ransoming captives.
- Saint Gerard Majella: A humble Redemptorist lay brother born in southern Italy in 1726, who swept floors and cooked meals, and is turned to by mothers and families.
- Saint Gianna Beretta Molla and Pietro Molla: An Italian pediatrician and her engineer husband, who built a joyful family life centered on Christ. They are turned to by couples and parents facing high-risk pregnancy.
- Saint Marina the Great Martyr / Saint Margaret of Antioch: A young martyr of Antioch of Pisidia, daughter of a pagan priest, tortured after she refused to renounce Christ or marry the Roman governor. Feast: July 17.
- Saint Anne: The mother of the Virgin Mary, who lived most of her married life childless and is turned to by those waiting for a child.
- Saints Zechariah & Elizabeth: The righteous couple of the Gospel of Luke, long childless, who became the parents of John the Baptist after an angel's announcement.
- Saint Joachim & Saint Anne: The holy parents of the Virgin Mary, who waited most of their married life without a child. Feast: July 26 in the West.
- Saint Basil the Elder and Saint Emmelia of Caesarea: The Cappadocian parents of Saint Basil the Great. Basil the Elder was a rhetorician who endured exile for the faith, and Emmelia came from a family marked by martyrdom.
- Saints Gregory & Nonna: The parents of Saint Gregory the Theologian, whose faithful prayer led Gregory the Elder to the faith. Feast: August 5.
- Saint Monica: The mother of Saint Augustine, who wept, fasted and prayed for decades through a difficult marriage while her son drifted from God. Feast: August 27 in the West.
- Saint Louis & Saint Zélie Martin: The married couple, parents of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, who found holiness in an ordinary home of work, children and sorrow. Feast: July 12.
- Saint Macrina the Younger: The older sister and teacher of Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory of Nyssa, who turned her family's household into an ascetic community.
Each card features sacred artwork on the front and a short biography with a prayer on the back. Every card is handmade and laminated in Austin, Texas, and a prayer is said for the person who will receive it.
Prayer cards are devotional aids. They do not replace medical care, counseling, or the sacraments and rites of the Church.
